Shonita Bossier is director of the Securities Division of the Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions. She began working for the Commonwealth of Kentucky in May 2009 after 17 years in banking. Shonita previously worked for various financial institutions and international trust companies, including the Bank of Bermuda, U.S. Bancorp and Fifth Third Bank. She has managed international trade settlement operations and has experience in trust administration and operations.
Shonita is an active member of the North American Securities Administrators Association and serves on several committees, including the Standardized Training and Technology Committee and the Investment Adviser Section Committee. In September 2013, Shonita was featured as a “Money Hero” in Money magazine for working to help seniors avoid being victimized by fraud. The New York native earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the State University of New York College at New Paltz. She lives in Louisville, KY.
