Diane Young-Spitzer is the Acting Director and General Counsel of the Massachusetts Securities Division in the Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth. Prior to joining the Division, she was an Attorney in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, DC.
Diane is an active member of the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) and has served in various capacities. She is currently Vice-Chair of NASAA’s Investor Education Section Committee and Chair of NASAA’s Alerts & Advisories Project Group. She is also a member of the NASAA Senior Issues & Diminished Capacity Committee and one of its working groups--Supervision of Broker-Dealers with Cognitive Issues. Previously, Diane was Chair of the Informed Investor Outreach Project Group, the Pre-Retiree Outreach Project Group, the Sandwich Generation Project Group and the Online Resources Awareness Project Group. Diane has been a regular speaker at NASAA training seminars and public forums. She has also served on the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Faculty for the New England Securities Law Conferences.
Diane received her law degree from Boston College Law School and graduated from Wellesley College with a B.A. in Political Science.
